File Sizes & Bleed

For each design, add a 3mm bleed on every side — your artwork file will be 6mm wider and taller than the finished trim size. If you are using Canva, you must set a custom canvas size that includes bleed — do not use standard A-series presets as these do not include bleed.

Format Finished (Trim) Size Canvas Size (inc. 3mm Bleed)
A6 105 × 148 mm 111 × 154 mm
A5 148 × 210 mm 154 × 216 mm
A4 210 × 297 mm 216 × 303 mm
A3 297 × 420 mm 303 × 426 mm
A2 420 × 594 mm 426 × 600 mm
A1 594 × 841 mm 600 × 847 mm
A0 841 × 1189 mm 847 × 1195 mm
Single Correx 707 × 1000 mm 713 × 1006 mm

Bleed: Why It Matters

What is bleed?

A 3mm overhang of your background or design elements that extends beyond the trim line.

Why do we need it?

If the paper shifts slightly during trimming, you won't end up with a thin white edge.

What goes in the bleed?

Only backgrounds, patterns, or images. Never put important text or logos in the bleed area.

03

Safe Area

Keep all vital content — text, logos, key images — at least 3mm from the trim line. Because your file includes a 3mm bleed on every side, keep crucial elements 6mm from the overall edge of your artwork file.

04

Image Resolution

  • 300 PPI minimum. Files exported at 72 PPI (screen resolution) will appear pixelated in print and cannot be accepted.
  • Canva: Choose the highest quality PDF Print settings when exporting.
  • Photoshop: Set 300 PPI when creating your document or resizing images.
05

Colour Mode

  • Canva designs are RGB by default. Your file will be converted to CMYK at print time. Slight colour shifts may occur — we are not responsible for these changes.
  • Photoshop: Create your file directly in CMYK. Or convert via Image > Mode > CMYK, or use Edit > Convert to Profile with FOGRA39.
06

Exporting Your File

  • Accepted formats: Print-ready PDF, high-resolution JPEG, or PNG.
  • Canva: Choose "PDF Print" and select "Crop marks and bleed" if available.
  • Photoshop: Save as a print-ready PDF or high-res JPEG/PNG at 300 PPI, CMYK, with 3mm bleed.
07

Artwork Check & Proofs

  • No artwork check booked. Files without bleed or with an incorrect safe area will be printed with a colour-matched border where possible, or a white border when not.
  • Artwork check booked. Our team will review your files against size, bleed, image quality, dimensions and layout. We will be in touch with the outcome before anything goes to print.
  • No proofs provided. We do not issue digital or physical proofs. Once your artwork is approved it proceeds to print and cannot be recalled. Check everything carefully before submitting.
08

Final Checklist

Before you upload, run through this checklist. It mirrors exactly what we check on arrival.

  • You have read the artwork guide supplied by your festival organiser
  • Separate file for each item ordered — we cannot scale or adapt files between sizes
  • Bleed: 3mm on all sides
  • Safe area: 3mm inside from each edge
  • Resolution: 300 PPI
  • Colour mode: CMYK
  • File format: PDF, JPEG or PNG only

Submitting to Greenside

When you send your artwork to Greenside for approval, they are checking the content and creative only. They are not checking whether your artwork is print-ready.

We check every file before it goes to print. If your artwork does not meet technical requirements, we will reject it even if Greenside have already approved it. To avoid delays, make sure your artwork is set up correctly before you submit it to Greenside.

Do not upload artwork until you have placed your order. We need your order number to match your files to your job. Any artwork received without a corresponding order will be deleted.
